lyrics

I'm flying high, higher than ever and I'm looking down at this English weather and as I sore into the darkness the wind and rain is too damn heartless. So I fall and dive right into oblivion, watching all the people down below as they all scurry home. I've been lost for days, lost sense of direction. Got no sense or form of protection, I am feeling so alone, oh so alone.
I stop and stare at the time fly by and I take shelter to let my wings dry. Now i'm off again to find my own but this constant pounding of blistering hurt will never let me go home. Still I try to fly my way back to the top and stay above the English weather that is beating down below. But my wings are wet and so's my spirit, I don't think that I can do this anymore - i just want to go home. Let me go home.
I'm flying higher than ever I can almost see heaven. I can't believe that the light is so, so close. Well i tried my hardest and it wasn't good enough I'm far too frail for this world, i'm giving up. Just take my body down to the floor and bury me, bury me where I lay I'm not worth the trouble - don't go out of your way. Oh, haven't you heard? I'm just a little black bird.
I'm flying high, higher than ever. And i'm looking down at this English weather.
